Fatehgarh Sahib, October 9, 2013 -Condemning attack on Sikh family at their farm in Loria village of Bhuj district in Gujarat Tuesday morning, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal said today Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would take up this issued with his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi. After the yesterday attack, National Commission for Minorities member Ajaib Singh demanded immediate arrest of those involved in the attack and asked Badal government to take up the issued with Modi government.
Sukhbir was addressing a press conference at district administrative complex here after attending a ceremony wherein Joginder Pal Singla took over charge as chairman of District Planning Committee, Fatehgarh Sahib. Sukhbir reiterated the resolve of Shiromani Akali Dal to extend full security cover to the Sikh families based in other states. He said that “we are already in touch with Narender Modi and Punjab CM would speak to him in this regard and adequate steps would be taken to secure the Sikh families settled in other states”.
