Amritsar,
13 October, 2013- Mary Macleod, member of the British House of Commons visited
the Manawala complex of Pingalwara charitable institution along with three delegates from her home
country. Mohan Singh, secretary of Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Hunslow; and teachers
Sarabjeet Kaur and Karen are on Mary’s team.
The delegation gained knowledge
about the institution’s activates from All-India Pingalwara Charitable Society
(AIPCS) president Dr Inderjit Kaur and visited the patient wards, educational
section, artificial-limb centre, and physiotherapy wing. The British
parliamentarian paid tribute to the founder of Pingalwara, Bhagat Puran Singh,
and appreciated Dr Inderjit Kaur’s efforts for taking his good work forward.
She said Pingalwara’s work had inspired and touched people all over the world.
She said its environment was vibrant and the members of its staff were caring.
She had
special praise for the education at the school on the campus; and at the end of
the tour, she announced that she will share the experience with the parliament
of her country.
